JULY 7: ACCEPTANCE Let’s teach acceptance. Nothing has the absolute power to control us or destroy us. We may fold under the hostile criticisms of strangers or be daunted by the outrageous actions of friends, but we always have another available response. It’s this: We can see every person, no matter who they are, as the Teachers we’re ready for. This doesn’t mean we won’t feel their insults. Nor does it mean we won’t resist their lessons. It simply means we can learn to be detached from the particulars of the situation, focusing instead on the opportunity to accept and love even that which injures the ego. Acceptance isn’t as difficult as we may think. Actually, it’s a simple decision that bears repeating, as often as necessary. When we choose to accept an experience as a learning opportunity, regardless of its nature, it profoundly changes the tenor of our journey. We’re often reminded that the sticky details of our experiences don’t matter. Why don’t we relinquish our resistance to this idea? I WILL ACCEPT TODAY’S JOURNEY AS THE ONE I’M READY FOR.
