JULY 8, 2013 THOUGHTS FROM JOB CHAPTER 12 PREAMBLE Job reminds his friends that they are equal by virtue of creation and that he is not mindless. He also wonders how he has become, “a mere laughing stock though righteous and blameless” while the wicked go scot free. He also wonders how the free throw contempt for misfortune and those who provoke God are secure. He then calls on his friends to learn from nature to remember that all life is in God’s hands, not them. He also reminds them God owns: Wisdom, power, counsel and understanding. Finally, he shows them that God is in control of all affairs that concern humans Lessons 1. Human knowledge may have insights but God’s knowledge is beyond human wisdom. One person’s knowledge can help another, but no man’s wisdom can replace the understanding of this universe with a deeper insight than the revelatory wisdom of God can do. 2. Remember we live, and move and have our being in Him. 3. Remember not to be envious of the wicked even if they prosper. David said, “I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.” 4. God is in control of all human affairs: natural, social, civil, spiritual, economies, and et cetera. 5. Nature remains an open book for us to learn of God. Let us go back to the beginning and flee the deception of secular humanism, progressivism, evolutionism and many other deceptive isms that tussle with the very nature of God and his creation. Dear God Give us the perspective of Your revelation to put all our insights in proper order to share Your knowledge and salvation with this world. Amen
