JULY 9, 2014 1 Tim 2:1-4 (NKJV) “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” According to this verse, prayer is one of the most important things I can do as a Christian. Paul says, “Pray for everyone!” (Italics mine). My prayer should include but not limited to the leaders in my church, community, state and nation. I have been challenged the last few days about my own prayer life; I know I need to spend more time in prayer. How often do we use the phrase, “I will pray for you” but when that person is out of sight they are out of mind and we forget to pray for them? I often tell people, “As the Lord brings it to my remembrance, I will pray for that situation.” How often do we talk about how terrible someone’s sin is without praying for them? I should never speak about someone’s sin without praying for them first, if I pray for them first I will probably not feel the need to talk about them. One of Satan’s chief concerns is to keep Christians, from praying. Someone once said, “The Devil trembles, when he sees the weakest Christian on his knees.” Today, I want to challenge you to pray for the people that you come in contact with. Pray for that person that is trapped in a sin they can’t get out of. Pray for that person that you see standing on the side of the street with a sign signifying they need help. Make the people you come in contact with your prayer list. Let me encourage you to start a PUSH prayer ministry. PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS.
