JUMMA KHUTBA FROM MECCA . Dated 22-11-13 I begin with the name of Allah the most merciful oft forgiving. When everyone’s opinions have proliferated into the society it is important to hold on to the elements of sincerity. To hold on to the words of Allah. Therefore the Sheikh advised the leaders, the media and the society not to either cover the truth with falsehood or lie, criticize, or backbite others . People engage in backbiting but do not try to correct themselves. People look for faults in others but do not look at their own faults. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said that a bankrupt person is the one who on the day of judgement will come with many good deeds but because he has gossiped and backbitten his good deeds will be given to others and when his good deeds will be depleted others bad deeds will be given to him. He (peace and blessing of Allah be on him) also said to fear Allah in open and in secret in anger and calmness. Making mistakes is from the nature of the man so fear Allah and whatever is distributed in the society should be for the purpose of advising them and not criticizing them and do not expose the faults of your brothers within the society. Guard your tongue and avoid loose talk because what caused people to fall in the fire is the fruit of the tongue.
