Tarr Best Players: Team Effort Prior to yesterday’s game against our more fancied opposition, I put it to the boys that I thought we lost a little respect against St Bernards the previous game with our effort, mainly to ourselves, our awesome club and our awesome supporters. The record books will show that we lost our contest to Sanctuary Lakes yesterday and fair enough too as they were worthy winners, no doubting that. What the record books won’t show was that more importantly the boys won back that respect. With 5 minutes left on the clock, no interchange bench left because of injuries to key players, completely off our feet and many more playing hurt and simply unable to come off, we fell just short at games end against a very good team (and not to mention a stiff breeze) conceding a couple of very late goals. It was really a day of mixed emotions yesterday knowing the boys left nothing behind. All the management crew of the team and our supporters are incredibly proud of their effort. We will take many positives from the game. The boys have now set the benchmark for the rest of season in what is a tough competition but knowing also that they can match it with anyone when they are willing to put everything on the line.
