It’s that time of year again when WOMEN OF LETTERS dons its tailcoat and bowler hat, its pipe and pocket watch for our annual celebration of gentlemen! You are cordially invited back to our beloved Brisbane home, The Zoo, to witness some of this country’s finest all-male talent put pen to paper in honour of the art of putting pen to paper, that most beloved of divertissements—letter-writing. On Sunday, November 2nd, the Women of Letters team will bring together for the first time on stage: Best-selling author and beloved QWeekend contributor MATTHEW CONDON Iconic rock musician and national treasure JAMES REYNE Award-winning novelist NICK EARLS Federal Member for Moreton GRAHAM PERETT MP Music journalist, musician and man about town EVERETT TRUE Award-winning country music singer JAMES BLUNDELL Writer, author and bookseller JACK VENING Award-winning comedian GEOFFREY WINDLE These delightful chaps will each be penning and reading a letter to ‘The Woman Who Changed My Life’. There’ll be wine, cheese plates and copious amounts of letter writing. Stamps and envelopes will be provided, and in the spirit of participation attendees are encouraged to pen short notes. Men of Letters kicks off at 3.30 and bookings are essential via thezoo.au For $25 plus booking fee that’s a fairly formidable afternoon’s entertainment.
