JUST IN: 2014/2015 ACADEMIC CALENDAR The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology would like to inform all education institutions and the general public that the 2014/2015 academic calendar will run from 8th September, 2014 to 31st July, 2015. The Primary and Secondary school academic year will cover a total of 41 weeks while the Teacher Training College calendar will be 39 weeks long. First Term a. Primary and Secondary school 8th September, 2014 to 12th December, 2014, followed by 3 weeks end of first term holiday. b. Teacher Training and Technical colleges 8th September, 2014 to 5th December, 2014 followed by 5 weeks end of first term holiday Second Term a. Primary and Secondary school 5th January, 2015, to 27th March, 2015 followed by 3 weeks end of second term holiday. b. Teacher Training and Technical colleges 12th January, 2015 to 27th March, 2015 followed by 4 weeks end of second term holiday Third Term a. Primary and Secondary school 13th April, 2015 to 24th July, 2015 followed by 5 weeks end of year holiday. b. Teacher Training and Technical colleges 27th April, 2015 to 31st July, 2015 followed by 4 weeks end of year holiday. As usual, schools and colleges will observe public holidays. In addition, secondary schools and colleges will have the traditional mid-term holiday from 2nd to 5th March, 2015. Similarly, primary schools will have a one-day casual holiday during the same week. All education institutions and the general public are reminded that the school calendar is harmonized and therefore, no education institution is allowed to operate outside this academic calendar.
