JUST IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING UPDATES! Howdy fine folks of Facebook Land! I hope this post finds you good and on your way to better. Im doing the do! Well not the do (Eww!), but the doing that needs doing. Basically, Im putting in the WORK to get/keep this life of mine on a forward and upward trajectory! I thought Id share with all of you what Im up to for a number of reasons: 1. Im proud of myself and am not afraid to show it. 2. I speak into existence the life I am committed to thereby increasing the chances that said life will soon BE my reality. And so can YOU. 3. To inspire you to get up off your toosh, put a plan in place, and work that plan until you arrive where you say you wanna go. You feel me? So heres what Momma Goddess is up to these days. Kudos and compliments are welcome and greatly appreciated. Questions on how you can get your SHINE going are also welcome. Who knows? I may be the SPARK you need to light your fire today. ; ) 1. I am almost to my goal weight that will allow me to resume my modeling career. Im boxing my way back to my fighting weight! I had all kinds of mind games going on about losing the weight for my sometimes crazy industry. I felt like I was selling out by conforming to an idea of beauty that isnt the norm for women of the world. But then these 7 powerful words rang out in my mind. I HAVE BABIES TO TAKE CARE OF! And while I am well aware that me and my beautiful dark skin and natural hair is not always what middle America is checking for, they may not know what theyre missing out on if I dont show them. So back into the game I go. But this time will be different. Im different. My sons are my motivation and I fully intend to take the modeling world by storm...again. : ) 2. I am thrilled that my work as an motivational speaker for infertility, especially amongst the African-American community is taking shape. Ive signed on with RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association as an Ambassador. Ive begun booking speaking engagements where I will share my journey through infertility and my and my husbands empowered choice to conceive with the help of an anonymous egg donor to have our beautiful boys. My speakers one sheet (see below) is complete and ready to go. By the way, PLEASE SHARE my one-sheet with anyone you think may be interested in having me speak at their event. I am soooo excited about this one! And scared out of my mind too! But I just keep maintaining the vision of the millions of women of color who are struggling with infertility as we speak and who will read my book and gain/regain HOPE. If all goes according to the carefully-laid out plan that my business strategist/coach (Yup, got me one of those too! Momma aint playing!) and I have mapped out, the book should be done within several months. Stay tuned for updates and for news on the Book Release Party! Because you know I HAVE TO have a party!!! 4. Ive just signed on with Mommynoire again to write a bi-monthly column about all things motherhood, fashion, infertility, late-in-life first time Moms, empowerment, my new projects and so on. Chile, you dont know what Ive been going through these past few months to get this site up, running and a true representative of ME. Now I know that it is nearly impossible to capture ALL OF THIS on one site, but dammit, Im trying! All of the above wouldnt mean as much to me if it wasnt for my two toddling balls of energy and drool, Bryce and Kaden. As tired as I am doing all the doing Im doing, I cant get enough of these two boys. They wear me out and lift me up all at the same time! They make me better and I truly hope I am inspiration to them one day. That would be great! 7. And last, but most certainly not least, I want to acknowledge my love, my partner, my MAN, Chris, for continuing to be ALL THAT I NEED to fly high! I could (and may) write a book about our marriage and all of its wonders. We are not perfect. And if you dont already know, I cant stand that word. But we are REAL. We are honest. We are a team. We laugh. And we keep each other going when all each of us wants to do is stop the train so we can get off. But stop we shant. Our destiny awaits us and we know its all worth it to get there.
