JUST SO GRATEFUL… I wasnt sure if I should post this but just felt after a few days that needed to. A few days ago my wife and I went to grab a salad for dinner before we headed home. We walked and ordered our salads but I couldnt help but notice a man looking at me from the cooking area. I noticed him mouthing saying, “pastor.” He came out from the area where he was making the salads and gave me the biggest hug. I hadnt seen him in nearly two years. We hugged and talked for a few minutes. He was so happy to see me, as I was so happy to see him. We got our salads and he wouldnt let me pay for the meals. I was completely surprised and overwhelmed with his kindness towards me and my wife. He brought our salads and even brought two glasses of wine. I sat down and said to my wife, this is amazing and started to cry like the little girl I am emotionally. (refrain yourself from your comments here please...thank you :-) I asked him, “Why are you doing this?” He said, “Pastor, I will never forget all that you did for me and my family and for the way you helped us.” We hugged and he went back to work and I realized there are still some amazing people out there who remember the good. I know weve all done something dumb in the past. But lets never forget the good people have done for us along our walk in this life. Dont be afraid to express it to them because you may never know how much it means to them. As George will never fully know how God used him to touch my heart and even add another layer of healing. The Hebrew term for gratitude is, “Recognition for the good another has done for you.” Grateful people look forward to helping people that have helped them because gratitude is rooted in remembrance. I wouldnt be where I am or who I am today, if it wasnt for the amazing people who helped me through the darkest season of my life. I will forever be indebted to them. It was William Arthur Ward who said, “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. Now thats pretty fitting for this time of year. Lets wrap the present and give it to those who have blessed us along the way. Happy Friday Everyone.
