JUST give it a THOUGHT........... CM Fadnavis, the young, visionary leader of the state of Maharashtra by taking into account the immediate needs of the city based on ground reality has initiated various reforms & proposals for transforming the city of MUMBAI into one of best Mega City on the GLOBAL front in all its spheres of activity which is highly appreciated and endorsed by one and all... Further, our young dynamic MLA Adv. Asish Shelar of Bandra, Khar & Santacruz has invited views & suggestions from the citizens to initiate a well laid out DP (development Plan) that gives top priority to the immediate needs of the society based on ground realities which is welcome & applauded by all the citizens of the region... Been a natural resident of this vibrant city of Mumbai since the last 61 years, I suggest my viewpoints that reflects the ground reality as it exists today based on my personal experiences....Uniformed development cannot be compromised to satiate the monetary lusts of the vested interests but must cater to the larger interests of the society as a whole..... True Development and growth isnt limited to tall Hi-tech constructions like Sky scrapers, highways, flyovers, Hospitals and Residential towers alone but also comprises of open spaces for parks, footpaths, gardens and a uniformed development which supports the eco-system that reflects an healthy environmental surroundings for its citizens......... My topmost priority is to implement a free lane for the Right to Way for all the emergency vehicles like Ambulances, Fire engines and Police patrol vehicles. which is a question of Life and Death for every citizen in our society. The defaulters who obstructs or restrains the free movement of all emergency vehicles coupled with those who flaunt traffic rules must be dealt with stringent measures and penalized. The proposal by our CM Fadnavis to reduce the FSI of buildings adjacent to narrow roads & lanes of the city is welcome, random construction of tall buildings in the narrow roads and lanes leads to congestion, pollution & puts heavy burden on the civic infrastructure which endangers the society at large.... ... But, I suggest a blanket ban on all constructions on the narrow roads & lanes of this city till more open spaces are created for the free movement of all emergency vehicles without any obstructions and the issues of illegal parking on the roads are not resolved... Coming to the issues of SLUMS, we must realize that slum dwellers are an intregal part of our society which consists of the poor, middle class , the labor class, the unemployed, the retired Sr, citizens and the under-privileged sections from our society,,,All the regularized slum dwellers under the state government can be rehabilitated under various schemes as provisioned by the Maharashtra state Government....but... all illegal encroachments by vested interests for mere monetary gains on the roads & footpaths of the city must be removed in the larger interests of the society... Further, It would be advisable to implement Redevelopment of all dilapidated Structures and regularized SLUMS in the city under top priority, Besides opening up more spaces it will go a long way in addressing the residential woes of the average Maharashtrian..... Random construction with thoughtless planning to cater to the vested interests at the cost of the society at large will further aggravate congestion, pollution and health issues leading to more chaos and instability in the society we live.... Vision of a MUMBAI that reflects a healthy environment in all the spheres of activity..................lol
