JZ PF - Customer review You might be thinking: Over 100 dollars!? I can buy a pop filter for less than 20 dollars and it will work just fine! And to that I say Absolutely! A $20 pop filter will do you just fine. So, if that IS the case, why the upscale in price by nearly 600% First and foremost: this thing works. And it works marvelously; does it completely remove plosives? No; and I doubt there is a material in this world that CAN without changing the frequency response of your audio. And that right there is the key element; the reason this thing is 6x more expensive than a standard nylon pop filter is because it leaves the acoustic properties of your performance unaffected whilst doing an amazing job at catching plosives. But if you dont believe me, heres a shootout I made between 4 different pop filters, including the JZ-PF: youtube/watch?v=XVNGelVyyHE&feature=youtu.be Beyond functionality, the build quality is the best I have seen on any pop filter; its rugged, the plastic is high quality, the tightening knob turns smoothly, it creates a strong, reliable grip on the stand, the goose-neck is pliable, yet sturdy and stiff, and the whole thing just looks damned gorgeous. So, Brass Tacks: do you NEED this item? No. But, if you ARE having troubles with plosives in your recordings (like I did) and ordinary pop filters just arent cutting it, pick up this bad boy right now. It might seem like an outlandish price, but its definitely worth it (especially if you are making professional recordings).
