Jace Martin will be working at the farmers market in Palestine this summer. Today was his first day. I am so excited, because he will be working with a man that started this business when he was 13. Hes now 75+. Hes the classic kind of country gentleman that the world needs more of. I am blessed to have him take Jace under his wing and share his knowledge (about business, people, and life) with him. I just picked Jace up from his first day, and he said that it was very enjoyable. Mr. Sam let him do all of the legwork and deal directly with the customers. Now I feel like I need to buy Jace a straw hat and some plaid button downs. It makes me long for those old, near-forgotten days sitting at Mammys house shelling peas, picking pecans, running through Pappys corn field in fear of our lives if we broke a stalk, and watching the chihuahuas massacre the chickens. (lol--they accidentally got into the chicken coop.) Good times. I told him the other day that his opportunity for success is so vast, because so very few people have a work ethic anymore. He is not focused on the money. He just wants to learn and be a help. I cant wait to see the good things that he carves out of this life for himself and for others.
