Jack Black also needs a foster family while looking for his forever inside home. Jack showed up at someones house in the middle of day one day last year. He was bloody and covered in scabs and scratches. HSLC took him in and started treating him. At first it was thought that he had been attacked. This was not the case. Then he was treated for mange and ringworm. Nothing seem to be working. Months were going by and Jack was getting sicker and sicker. He started having a fever and his eyes were swelling. He was not eating much and he was throwing up. He was scratching himself bloody. We knew that if we did not figure this out soon Jack would die. One of our volunteers drove him up to The Animal Allergy & Dermatology clinic in Gaithersburg, MD and it was discovered that Jack had severe environmental allergies. He was started on a regimen of steriods and allergy medicine. Jack is doing so much better and his hair is growing back! He is such an incredible love bug. He loves to be held and loves attention. He knows that he can never go outside again and he is fine with that. He can not be in smoke or alot of dust. He needs his medicine every third day and he takes it just fine. Because of his treatment and recovery he has been in a cage for many months and he is dying to get out and run around a house. He can only be indoor. If you have extra space in your home and time for some hugs, please call 703-777-2912 and ask for Kim. Jack needs you! These are some before and after pics. More to come. This is one way your donations and our fosters help animals in need.
