Jack Rogers Pontardawe Golf Club Junior Champion 2014 A big congratulations to Jack Rogers on winning both the gross and nett 2014 junior club championships Six of the clubs best Juniors battled it out for the coveted title, Jack Rogers, Dylan Thomas, Oliver Davies, Joe Davies , Alex Weston and Dafydd Williams. Winner-- Jack Rogers-- 79 gross, 69 nett Runner Up-- Dylan Thomas-- 85 gross, 78 nett Jack was runner up in 2013 and the hard work he has put in this season has certainly paid off for him. What a year for Jac, along with Dylan, Jac represented Pontardawe Golf Club, in the USA Kids Golf, European championships held at Luffness Golf Club in Scotland. Jac has also gone on to become a consistent selection for the under 14s Glamorgan County team. A highlight for Jac this year, again along with Dylan, was being selected for the Golfing Union of Wales South West Academy Squad. Two Pontardawe Juniors in the same Welsh squad, you dont often see two players from the same club in the same Welsh squad. Thats quite an achievement in itself. Jac is a valued member of Pontardawes very strong junior section which is run by Anne Evans and coached by golf professional Baden Jones. Pontardawe junior section certainly is going from strength to strength. This must have seemed like the icing on top of the cake for Jac, to finish the season so strongly by winning the 2014 Pontardawe Golf Club Junior Championship. What a great season, Well Done Jac.
