Jack Ryan is BACK! In the upcoming new film SHADOW RECRUIT. (Release date: January 17th, 2014) Chris Pine (Star Trek) is...Jack Ryan in Shadow Recruit. It follows the hero of many novels by the late Tom Clancy, but isnt based on any specific book. Instead, it provides an origin story for the CIA analyst previously played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck. That origin follows Pines Ryan from his days as a marine in Afghanistan through his time as a desk job and into his first adventure with the CIA. Said adventure involves Branagh as a Russian kajillionaire with a nefarious scheme to collapse the U.S. economy through a complex act of financial terror. As Ryan learns the ropes of spycraft, he also attempts to protect his fiancee Cathy, played by Keira Knightley. Interested to see how Chris Pine handles his first espionage role and if he can create a franchise for himself. This should be a very interesting film. Look out for the review after it opens.
