Jacko’s Freedom While I was in Costa Rica last week, I stayed - TopicsExpress

Jacko’s Freedom While I was in Costa Rica last week, I stayed with Pastora Sonia, Pastor Martin, Raquel and Ruth Ramirez. It was interesting, every time we left the house, their dog Jacko would follow us to the gate and Pastora Sonia would have to tell him to stay. He would follow the car right to the edge and we would have to wait there until the gate closed, so that Jacko did not make that dash for the freedom that he was seeking. I was thinking about Jacko wanting ‘freedom’ one day. Jacko was well taken care of at his home. He had food, shelter and love. And all the freedom he wanted, in the boundaries of his home and yard. The gate was not to stop Jacko from receiving freedom, but rather to protect him from the outside world. If he were to walk outside the boundaries of his home, the protection that was provided for him there would be gone. The world outside his home was not as pretty. I saw dogs wondering the streets and they were skin and bones. But Jacko was well fed. He was loved and provided for. The freedom that he was seeking was really not freedom, but rather death. God sets up boundaries for us to protect us, not keep us from anything of him. He provides all that we need within the boundaries of his love. But sometimes we feel like we are missing something, that there is something out in the world that we should experience and we walk away from the protection of God. And we don’t find freedom … we find death. Today, I choose God’s boundaries … HIS FREEDOM!
