Jacque Evans, co-founder of Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary, was more than a well-known artist, she was also a fierce animal lover and generous humanitarian. With the help of fellow wolf-champion, Barbara Berge, Jacque Evans founded The Candy Kitchen Wolf and Wolf-dog Rescue Ranch. Jacque supported rescued wolf-dogs by selling her artwork. She believed that her talent was a gift to be used in the promotion of worthy causes. Her art continues to support the wolves and wolf-dogs at the sanctuary she started, which has now become Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary.
