Jacques Tati is one of the true auteurs of French cinema: a writer - TopicsExpress

Jacques Tati is one of the true auteurs of French cinema: a writer / director / star who created a world that is entirely his own, yet familiar to all of us. His remarkable body of work, including Playtime, Trafic and M Hulot’s Holiday, has influenced contemporary French directors like Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Michel Gondry, as well as performers as diverse as Woody Allen, Steve Martin and Rowan Atkinson. Tati had the rare gift of making work that’s both sharply satirical but ultimately warm and affectionate, and his wry commentaries on modern life, consumerism and technology feel more topical than ever. Throughout October and November the BFI and the Institut Francais are presenting a season of his films, and we’re delighted to be able to offer you a special 2 for 1 ticket offer. Just quote “LOCO” on the phone or online when you book tickets for the season and you’ll get 2 for the price of 1. https://whatson.bfi.org.uk/Online/default.asp?BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::permalink=jacquestati
