Jada is preparing to move out of our Transitional House. She is much more stable financially compared to when she joined us, but she is nervous about going out on her own in just a few weeks. She brought this up with her case manager and they discussed how she will find a place to live and what would be a good fit for her family. Jada has worked hard from the moment she joined THP. Her case manager asked her if she would like to continue working with Home of the Sparrow and join the Supportive Housing Program, or rental subsidy program. She explained to Jada that she will have to meet with her case manager at least twice a month to go over her finances and they will continue to work on budgeting skills in order to improve her financial literacy. In return, Home of the Sparrow will pay a portion of her rent so she can adjust to being back on her own. Jada was thrilled to hear that she could join the Supportive Housing Program.
