Jade did pretty good yesterday considering she had morphine pump and we could push the button when she was in pain. Dr. Pitcher said Jade has a larger incision than normal because they couldnt find her liver once they opened her up. It was in her upper chest cavity and they had to pull the liver down to get to the gall bladder. He kept saying, I cant believe how inflamed her gall bladder was and how much she can tolerate. She had this for a long time. Ryder and Joe left around 3:00 pm and I dont think Jade wanted them to leave because her stats and respiration got a little scary. The nurse called Respiratory and said they are busy and they would be down later. I put her in her wheelchair, because she had so much congestion in her chest, so she wouldnt choke and aspirate. I said she needed to be suctioned NOW so the nurse went and got the charge nurse after waiting an hour and a half for someone from respiratory to come up. She suctioned her and sounded so much better. Very scary for about 2 hours but everything went good after that. She slept all night, (I also got 5 hours of sleep!!! I think Im more tired today than I have been all week. Jade is resting now but as soon as she is awake we will be getting her up and in wheelchair. We update later tonight or tomorrow morning.
