Jaguar have achieved another breakthrough in manufacturing by creating a virtual urban windscreen. It uses pillar screens that can eradicate blind spots completely. We are sure this will become all the rage in the future. The windscreen uses video projection to transform an otherwise static windscreen into a virtual moving image display. The Virtual Urban Windscreen can project a ghost car image for the motorist to follow that can show the driver which exits to take. The windscreen accesses Cloud technology, which can alert the driver to useful information such as prices of the nearest petrol station, or available parking spaces in a multi storey car park. Driving can be stressful so the windscreen eliminates the traditional blind spots of the ABC pillars through the use of embedded screens at these pillars and cameras in the blind spots. The screens can display moving images and create a 360 degree wrap round round the car, so drivers will no longer have to turn awkwardly when driving. The possibilities do seem endless.
