Jai Guruji Pyari sangat. Since a long time I was thinking of - TopicsExpress

Jai Guruji Pyari sangat. Since a long time I was thinking of writing this but I guess today is the right time. What does satsang mean? Satsang is a combination of two words: Sat and Sang. In simple words, satsang means achi sangat, ache logo ki sangat. Satsang has 3 meanings: (1) the company of the highest truth Literally speaking, Sat means truth and Sang means to be or associated with. Satsang is therefore friendship or association with truth itself. Truth is what is real, what exists. So all there is, is Truth. Whenever something increases your experience of the Truth, it opens your Heart and quiets your mind. Conversely, whenever something, such as a thought, fear, or judgment, limits or narrows your experience of the Truth, the Heart contracts and the mind gets busier. We are all equally endowed with this capacity to discriminate the Truth. Thus, the true teacher, or satguru, is within you, and satsang, or being with the Truth, is endless. You have always been here in the embrace of your true nature as aware, loving space. You have always been in satsang. Satsang means to be with or remain associated with the inner quality of sattva or purity. It is ones infinite fortune to be able to recognize satsang. Because it is hard to achieve God even after the austerities of thousands of years, we should be appreciative of the opportunities. How can a pretty ant happen to meet an elephant? There is a vast difference between the God and a soul. The differences between them are more than the between earth and the sky or that between an ant and an elephant. What makes the meeting between the two vastly different entities (God and soul) possible? It happens merely due to the will of God, the supreme personality. The company of God remains remote even after one spends 100 lifetimes for the purpose. If we realize, this impossible has become possible for us. This hardly achievable being became easy to attain in this course of lifetime. Pyari Sangat the God in human form has come to us. Oh Devotees ponder yourself and realize that the same God has come to us. Why don’t we feel the pleasure of His company? This is the truth and we need to be in the company of this truth with our body, mind, heart and action. (2) the company of a guru Remembering our Guruji, spending time thanking him, narrating his blessings on different sangats, are all a part of satsang and doing satsang. We want the blessings of our Guruji and we want to thank him for the unconditional love he always showers on us. Satsangs provide us with an opportunity to keep ourselves engaged in divine centered thoughts and actions and remain focused. It generates powerful, cleansing, inspiring and purifying thought vibrations which can uplift us and also sanctify the place where it is organized. We go to satsangs because we want to spend time in the company of our Guru. We want to spend the time thanking our Guruji for the unconditional love he showers on us and we want to do it without any disturbance of family, friends or relatives. That is the sole reason, we are asked to keep our phone on silent and not talk during satsang. We go to satsangs to establish that one to one direct connection with our beloved Guruji, to strengthen the connection. Those few hours spent there are probably the best time of our life. The only thing we remember is our Guruji. (3) company with an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about, and assimilate the truth Humare Guruji ka satsang bhi bohot alag hai, jahan na to pravachan sunne padte hai aur na hi koi pravachan dene wala hota hai. Mithe Mithe pyare pyare shabad bajte hai aur humare sawalo ka jawab usi mei mil jata hai. Satsang is the pious conduct prescribed by god, by our Guruji. A significant part of the task is to know the right conduct. Even that has been arranged for us. Reading his vachans, doing path, doing the mantra jaap, reading holy books, helping people in need, doing seva are all a part of satsang. We are not following the right code of conduct. When we go to satsang, 2 hours for which shabads are played, everyone is quiet and the moment shabad and arti is over, they resume back to the normal habits. Where they went, what they did, whose family member said what and what not. I remember, last time when I attended satsang, the moment arti got over, every sangat got busy in distributing prashad, talking and what not. The shabad “shukar tera Guruji tera shukar kara” was playing after the arti, and no one was bothered. It is not about the shabad, it is about us. It feels like, Guruji was there only for 2 and half hours during shabads and arti, and after that he has left. We keep a seat aside for him to come and sit there and bless us all, and we feel it very strongly that Guruji is there. Would we have behaved the same way if he was sitting there physically in front of our eyes? We are busy gossiping after the arti, and while eating the langar prashad. Gossiping is the first thing, our Guruji asked us not to do. When we eat the langar Prashad, we should thank Guruji that we are fortunate enough to be blessed with this divine prashad. As Guruji said, “Har kisi nu mahapurushan da mahaparshad naseeb nai hunda.” We should have the divine prashad with silence so that we can consume the maximum blessings hidden in it. Hum kyon bhool jate hai, jab hum baat karte hai satsang ke beech, humari blessings transfer ho jati hai. We should not waste even a second of the time when we are in Guruji’s satsang. Every second is precious and priceless. We are very fortunate that Guruji has blessed us and we can feel it. Thousands and thousands of people are waiting in queue for thousands of years, but they do not get the luck to be in satsang. Humne kuch to ache karm kiye honge, that we got Guruji’s sharan. Let’s not waste it. Bade bade logo ko prashad nahi milta, hume to aivehi mil jata hai. Hazaro saal ki tapasya ke baad rab milta hai, hume to aivehi mil gaya. We certainly have all of the three elements of the sat available to us. When we have association to these three elements in our actions, in our thoughts, in our words then we are really worthy of being called Satsangi. Such Satsang is very dear to our Guruji. Jai Jai Guruji
