Jake was rehomed from the pound by Aileen Dooley in March of this year after seeing his photograph. This is Jake and Aileens story.... Earlier this year I decided that I would like to help a little dog. I debated between a rescue, and a pound. Eventually I decided that I would prefer to get a little dog out of a pound, as I felt the rescue dogs have already been saved so to speak. About the middle of March I saw Jakes photo on the Rehoming North Tipp Pound Dogs site. I kept watch for a couple of weeks, then decided to take the bull by the horns so to speak. I rang the dog warden to enquire about him and I was told he was still there. The warden couldnt have been more helpful and sounded like a really lovely man, who seems to genuinely care what happens to the dogs in the pound. On Monday March 31st I went over to Nenagh. I had purchased a dog licence that day, and had thought I could pay the release fee at the pound. It turns out I needed a receipt from the council office. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the pound, the council offices were closed to the public. The guy in the pound was VERY helpful, and thanks to him, and a very kind lady in the council office, I came home that evening with my little dog. Id put him in the back seat, but by the time I was out of the pound yard, he was in the front seat beside me. Jake is a very happy, affectionate little dog who craves attention. All you have to do is look at him and he is over in a flash, his front paws on my leg. He follows me everywhere, and even when I come out of the bathroom he is waiting for me. He hates cats, much to my Jesss despair, as he has the poor creature traumatised. It took him a while to get used to my dog Sophie. Id been told he was used to other dogs, but any time Sophie went near him, hes snarl and strip his teeth at her. Thankfully they are now friends, even if he does get jealous when she comes over to me. Jake settled in very quickly, and its like hes been here all his life As you can see, he loves his home comforts Below is Jakes pound picture and as he is now safe and obviously very comfortable in his forever home!
