"Jamaica men’s 4x100m team could prove problematic; based on relay practice sessions seen so far. Usain Bolt, Kemar bailey-Cole, Nickel Ashmeade and Nesta Carter were the top four finishers at Jamaica’s trials, which make them automatic selectees to the relay pool, with the JAAA selection panel, headed by Glen Mills, adding fifth and sixth place finishers Jason Livermore and Oshane Bailey. However, based on practice sessions seen so far over the last two days, Warren Weir, who won the 200m, was seen handing over the baton to Bolt… this means, Weir is practicing to run the third leg, a sure Yohan Blake spot, left vacant because of his injury. On Wednesday, Bailey-Cole, who will hold onto the second leg usually secured by the injured Michael Frater, was seen handing over the baton to Ashmeade…. this also means that Ashmeade is also practicing for the third leg spot. Ashmeade was later seen making practice passes to Jason Livermore, who was third in the 200m, with still no sign of Oshane Bailey in the relay practices. So based on the practice sessions seen so far, it will most likely be Carter to Bailey-Cole – to Ashmeade or Weir – to Livermore in the elimination round, with Bolt replacing Livermore for the finals. The problem will then arise with whether it will be Weir or Ashmeade running the bend, to hand over to Bolt in the finals. Weir, who received from Bailey-Cole before handing off to Bolt in London last week, on a Racers Team, seems to be the more likely candidate."
