Jamaica topped Group Four of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Women’s Under-20 Qualifying Tournament, after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Cuba at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in St. Andrew, Jamaica. Both teams, however, qualify for the Finals of the Tournament, scheduled for October in Puerto Rico. The doubleheader feature match lived up to the expectations of spectators, who witnessed action at both ends of the field, with Cuba taking the lead in the first half, when Ollancey Gainza capitalized on a defensive error and scored in the 41st minute. Jamaica equalized right on the cusp of half-time, through a strike by Khadija Shaw in the 44th minute and, finally, took the lead and the match when Kayla Gray slotted home in the 89th minute of play. Earlier, Bermuda ended their campaign on a winning note, by defeating Curacao 3-0. Aaliyah Nolan recorded an emphatic hat-trick for the Bermudians, scoring in the 51st, 58th and 64th minutes. With the Group standings now decided, the complete list of teams heading to Puerto Rico in October are Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic, Anguilla, St. Kitts/Nevis, Suriname, Grenada, Cuba and Jamaica.
