Jamea Richardson Update on Zak Higgins. We serve a mighty GOD and I give all the Glory to GOD. Thank you to his faithful servents who have prayed diligently for Zak. Please continue to stay in prayer. With that being said I want to give a candid update on Zak. Zak has a very serious injury to his brain. It is called a diffuse axional injury. By his injury and the looks of the car he is only here by the wonderful glory of GOD and is truly a miracle. Many of you have been seeing the updates on FB and are asking if he is awake. It is complicated. His eyes are open for periods of time, sometimes hours. Sometimes focused on his surroundings. He can respond at times to very simple commands (like kissing my daughter Talya Shea Richardson ). His brain is still very compromised at this time though. What that means is there is still such an injury that his entire body is working haywhire. High body temperature, uncontrolled reflex movements ( like an infant just learning to move there arms and legs, rapid heart rate and the list goes on. However every day there is amazing progress! God is faithful to our prayers. Zak is still in the ICU. As Zaks brain continues to heal he will likely have to relearn to do everything. Just like an infant would have to do in their first year of life. His brain knew how to do this stuff before it just has to be reminded when its ready. This healing can take a year or so or how ever long our lord says it will take. Please continue to pray for a speedy healing but know that God is with Zak and his family. We find great comfort in the lord right now. Please dont hesitate to ask questions. Its all new to us too. God Bless you all. Jamea.
