James 5:9 says something very important: “Don’t grumble - TopicsExpress

James 5:9 says something very important: “Don’t grumble against each other, or you will be judged.” Are any of us grumbling against our brothers or sisters? Grumbling is that discontented muttering that naysayers and malcontents do against whoever is in charge. Some churches are full of grumblers and can’t keep a pastor for their grumbling. Grumbling brought the wrath of God down on Israel during the Exodus. Grumblers tear apart churches. We are not to be like that. We are to be of one heart and mind in Jesus Christ our Savior by the power of God’s Holy Spirit. If you find yourself grumbling, stop it! Pray about what gripes you. Pray hard. Sum up your complaint in one or two words and look it up in the concordance of your study Bible; then read those passages. As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to give you a clear understanding of the issue. Then, if you are still bugged by it, talk to your Sunday School teacher about it. It is quite alright to question, but don’t be a grumbler; rather, stay in the heart and mind of Jesus and be united with your church family.
