James Ada wrote, Should we or shouldnt we accept I watched an impressive video today that stimulated me back into sport It showed me a diet that will help me live a healthier life Is this not a good hadith? Well... no. After all, I know nothing about what you watched. Though it may have made James Ada feel good, is it really good for him? How do we judge? For all I know the video could state that pork - the flesh of swine - was a boon for health and fitness. Or the video teaches improper technique in fitness exercise, or that candy bars are good for you when consumed en masse. There isnt enough information. As well, is this man - James Ada - trustworthy? I know nothing about him except what he shows publicly. I know he defends HADITH - the same Sunni teachings that ISIS upholds. That alone makes me alarmed; how can I trust anyone who defends the conduct of ISIS? How do we judge? In this day and age where movies can be viewed on our smart phones and tablets, even these forms of information can be used as guidance to those illiterate of what is in the Book. I need only point to the remake of Battlestar Galactica to show a story (hadeethin) about Adam and the fall of man and their ejection from Paradise. Is that a good story (hadeeth)? How do you know what to follow? The Quran states it is one that confirms (musaddiqan) to what is between (bayni) your hands (yadayhi). This is repeated throughout the Quran. Surah 2:97 is an early statement about the might of the Quran. 2:97 Say, “Whoever is an opponent to Gabriel – for surely he brought it to your heart by The God’s leave; one that confirms to what is between your hands, and a guidance and proclamation to the ones who believe. The Quran is also (muhayminan) - one that guards - over the Book; be they what remains after the mishandling of the previous Books or stories (hadeethin) about the Book. Remember as well The God warns us about following the families of the Book after the Guidance was given to us. Surah 5:48-50 The Quran is the Criterion (alfurqan: Surah 25:1) that you use to judge what is between your hands - be it HADITH - stories - or a book written as guidance. So for this video spoken of, I need only turn to the Quran and see throughout where The God tells us to eat that which is allowed and good, as well as listing only 4 foods we are not allowed (2:173, 6:145) with descriptions to show how with mishandling or improper technique we can make good food bad (Surah 5:3). If the video James Ada posts fits in with this, I can judge by what The God revealed (Surah 4:105) that the foods offered are allowed and good. So what about HADITH? This is after all a source of guidance. ISIS follows HADITH - the same HADITH as Sunni. In fact, every single nation in the Middle East that is in turmoil follows HADITH, be they Sunni, Shia, or some other sect divided from the whole. Should I be like ISIS and follow the Sunni HADITH? We already know we are warned about following the teachings of the families of the Book after being given the Quran that is The Gods Guidance. Surah 5:48-50 We already know the HADITH - Sunni and Shia - contain teachings The God condemns in HIS error-free Book. The same teachings followed and upheld by ISIS. The same teachings found in the BIBLE. https://youtube/watch?v=YJaBqbE-Z3E The God also tells us: 7:3 Follow what is sent to you from your Lord, and do not follow any guardians besides Him. A little is what you remember. We are also told: 47:3 That is because those who deny follow falsehood, and those who believe follow the Truth from their LORD. Even so The God relegates their examples for men. So the Light - the Quran - is from The God. What others follow: is it The Gods Light or is it falsehood? How do we know? Our Creator gives a falsification test for every thing we are given and told to take as guidance. 4:82 Then do they not ponder the Reading (alqur-ana)? And if it were from with other than The God, then they will find in it many a contradiction. If it is not from The God, do not follow it. Surah 7:3, 47:3 If HADITH are condemned by The God, contain errors, contradictions, lapses of memory, a conduct of defilement Do I want to be like ISIS and follow HADITH? Or do I want to be one who submits (musliman), a believer (muminan) with confirmed belief (iman) in his heart? Better question: do I want to be like Ahmad, the messenger of The God who was given the Guidance sent for all nations? Ahmad followed only what The God revealed. Surah 6:50, 7:203-204, 10:15, 46:9 The Quran is the Book by which we judge all that comes between our hands. If it does not stand up to HIS scrutiny while we abide in this world, I do not doubt it will not stand up to HIS Judgment on the Decision Day. I will stick with the Quran. Peace.
