James Berl Tacy, Jr. September 16, 2013 James Berl Tacy, Jr., age 67, of 805 North Alleghany Avenue, Covington, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2013 in Greene County, Tennessee. He was born December 18, 1946 in Cass, West Virginia to the late James Berl Tacy, Sr. and Elsie Dean Tacy. He retired from the United States Army Reserve after twenty years, and was in his 47th year of employment with United Parcel Service, where he began working in 1967 and was currently serving there as a tractor trailer driver. He never met a stranger and loved all sports and was a classic car enthusiast. He is survived by two sons, Chad James Tacy and wife Lelia of Covington, and James Cody Ryder and partner Athron Ryder of Lynchburg; two sisters, Frances McKinney of Marlinton, WV, and Helen Conrad of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Stacy Tacy and Chadwick Tacy; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mary Ryder of Covington. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Dean Bowser officiating. In his honor, all classic car lovers are encouraged to attend the service with their cars. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery, in Huntersville, WV. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Marlinton Veterans of Foreign Wars. Active pallbearers will be Lewie Woods, Artey Morris, Bobby McCormick, John Bush, Don Dulaney and Chico Pierce. Honorary pallbearers will be Twig Bush, Charlie Collins, Mike Dabbs and Benji Beale. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 23, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
