James Chapter 1 Verses 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. A: There are 4 main reasons here: Tempted, drawn away, lust & enticed. 1: Verse 13 reveals that God is not the (tempter) meaning Satan is. 2: Drawn away is to be pulled away from Christ and the Cross (Purpose). Lured in another direction. 3: Lust is a passionate desire (Lust of the flesh, Lust of the eye & Pride of life). 4: Enticed means skillfully trapped by Satan. Each and every device above is to separate you from Jesus Christ the Son of God, his Holy Word and the true calling in your life. God on the other hand builds his Church with the purity of the Word and the Manifestations of the spirit. Jesus is the word and the foundation of every good work. The Church is so tempted, drawn away with worldly lust & now enticed that you sometimes cannot distinguish the Church from the World. (You know a tree by its fruit). Is your life style based on the Word of God or the word of the world? Your Body and your Reactions reflect what is truly in your heart. There’s a war of influence, follow the Word of God not the word of the world. The song says it well. (I will cling to the Old Rugged Cross and exchange it someday for a Crown) .
