James Chattfield Williams James Chattfield Williams, 80, of Union Grove died Thursday June 26, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Williams was born June 16, 1934 in Union Grove to Oliver and Tennie Porch Williams. He was married to the former Marguriete Moon for 59 years. He was a devoted family man, who loved the Outdoors and working on his farm. He was definitely a people person who never met a stranger. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. Mr. Williams was a member of the Arab High School Class of 1953. He served in the Alabama National Guard for 17 years. He was employed by the State of Alabama for 23 years and was an officer and shareholder of Ferguson-Williams Inc. for 23 years. Mr. Williams owned Sand Mountain Stockyard in Kilpatrick , Alabama. He is survived by his wife: Marguriete Williams of Union Grove: three daughters and sons-in-law: Martha and Ed Maples of Huntsville, Beth and Jim Chambers of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Lori and Brian Bishop of Arab; one son and daughter-in-law: Jon and Tammy Williams of Union Grove; nine grandchildren: Becky and Andy Palys , Jacob and Kristina Maples, Ashley and Ryan McCarty, Amber Williams, Abbey Williams, Anna Chambers, Rachel Chambers, Maggie Bishop and Mollie Bishop; one great-granddaughter: Clara Grace Maples; one brother: Wilburn Williams of Union Grove He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters-in-law: Oran and Mildred Williams of Texas, Nelson and Marjorie Williams of Union Grove, and Helen Williams of Union Grove. Visitation for Mr.Williams will be Sunday, June 29, 6-9 PM at Carr Funeral Home, Guntersville, Alabama. Funeral Services will be held at Carr Funeral Home, Monday, June 30 at 2:00 PM, with burial following at Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by, Reverend Andy Brown, Reverend James Neil Fossett, Reverend Wayne Tarvin and Reverend Jim Chambers. Serving as Pall Bearers are Jacob Maples, Ryan McCarty, Andy Palys, Ronnie Williams, Joe Williams, Nathan Williams, Colby Warren and Jason Berry. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or The Sweet Home Baptist Church Building Fund.
