James George Love Neilson Sadly, we lost another Airborne Brother yesterday. Aberdeen PRA member Jim Neilson passed away Monday evening 9th September. Jim served 23 years with the Parachute Regiment and 3 years TAVR with 15 Para. Service: 1962 – 1965 B Company 15 Para Aberdeen 1965 Enlisted in Parachute Regiment 2 Para 1965 – 1974 2 Para 1974 – 1977 PSI 4 Para (Gateshead) 1977 – 1980 2 Para 1980 – 1982 PSI 15 Para (Aberdeen) 1982 – 1985 2 Para 1985 – 1986 RSM 10 Para (London) 1986 – 1988 RSM PCAU (Brize Norton) 1988 Retired after 23 years service Service medals: GSM South Arabia Northern Ireland South Atlantic medal with star Long Service & Good Conduct Medal Jim was also a security manager at the British Embassy Ankara for several years with security secondments to other embassies throughout the region.
