Jamiroquais Jay Kay and I have a lot in common. We both like hats. His are more wild, mine more wigga. He wears Adidas Gazelles in Virtual Insanity (not on the album im talking about today), I wore Gazelles in high school and have two pairs now. He put out his second album on this day 20 years back... I listened to this album a great deal twenty years ago. Wow TWINS! Return Of The Space Cowboy was the follow up to the incredible Emergency On Planet Earth (1993) and another offering in the acid jazz phase of the early 90s. Musically this is a delightful treat of catchy feel good tunes and psychedelic fuzziness. Like many albums of this generation it pulls on the heart strings from my memory bank. The single for Space Cowboy was a different arrangement from the album version. This came out when I was in high school and it became a bit of an anthem for me not due to the nature of lyrics but more the dream like state I spent in high school. In 1996 when I repeated high school (yup im THAT guy) I was on our school ball committee and used the tune Journey To Arnhemland as a background tune for our Forest themed entrance. Due to the use of didgeridoo on the first album I believed Jamiroquai were Australian for a long time.
