Jammit, the highlight of my week, did not disappoint last - TopicsExpress

Jammit, the highlight of my week, did not disappoint last Thursday. In fact, I would go as far as to say it was the best Jammit I have experienced. A packed Woodford Bowls Club came alive with the familiarity of friends, local talent and the discovery of some new and irresistible acts. The evening warmed up with the sounds of Jeff Mapstone, John Clark, Mike John and Mary Martin , all bringing to life an atmosphere that would soon have people on their feet and a buzz in the air. The talented and award winning Norm Smith had us all in the moment with two original numbers, leaving the audience in the perfect mood for what was to follow. Connor, the very friendly giant, accompanied by Nick on drums held the room captive with his unbelievable performance. It was hard to imagine this night reaching any higher but it did! The crowd soon assembled on the dance floor for what was a sweat inducing, heart pumping show of rock from Steve and Lani. Still on our feet, Narelle entertained us, followed by Emarina taking the night to a more soulful level. The keyboard master was back again and much to the delight of the audience, Chas and Noelene entertained us with some favourites. Now with the room chanting “we want Pete, we want Pete”, the crowd pleaser prepared to take the stage. Keeping the audience entertained during the transition was Stephen Ewart with a spontaneous trumpet tune backed by our favourite bongo player Ernie. Allan and Kevin brought a country feel to the stage and gave us something to attempt a line dance to. Unfortunately, as we have all learnt, all great things must come to an end and to cap off this incredible evening Kevin brought the room to their feet one more time with an Aussie reggae anthem, a perfect finish. Thank you to all of those who go unmentioned and without whom Jammit would not be what it is. We certainly got our monies worth! Ellia Bryan
