Jan 10th 2015, Would you believe in a love at first sight? Boy invites Girl to dinner at his house. Forgets to mention a couple of things. The dog, that was ok as the dog was a suck so Girl loves Dog. Dining room has one bright red wall with a huge clock on it left over from a Toyota Dealers commercial, a red table and Japanese style banquettes; Girl takes that in stride. But the chopsticks, yikes. Boy trying to impress gets out fine lacquered chopsticks from Japan; Girl has never used chopsticks and these are the trickiest. Girl makes valiant effort to applause and accepts spoon and fork gracefully offered with some mutual laughter. And they fall in love. Moved the furniture around today so Kathryn can nap on the ground floor rather than the bedroom. We agreed that napping upstairs “cuts her off” from me too much and I find that very hard. So now I can watch her, read by her, chat with her, just be closer to her. It is, I fear a “dress rehearsal” for that which comes.
