Jan 21 , 2015 Battle of Kobane YPG/YPJ guerrillas have launched an operation on ISIS gang positions to the south and southeast of Kobanê, driving the gangs from their positions and killing at least 21 gang members. The YPG Press Centre issued a statement on the 128th day of attacks launched by ISIS gangs on Kobanê, saying that YPG/YPJ fighters are continuing operations to cleanse the city of gangs. To the south gangs have been driven out of the city The YPG Press Centre statement said that its forces had mounted an operation against gang positions on the southern front near the hospital and the Aleppo road, resulting in all the gangs being driven out of the city on that front. 21 gang members killed The statement said as far as could be ascertained 21 gang members were killed in this operation and 3 tanks were captured. One 106 calibre gun and 16 shells, one 60 mm mortar and 4 mortar shells, one 12.5 anti-aircraft gun, 2 BKC machine guns, 1 AK47, 2 pairs of binoculars and 1 pair of night sight binoculars were seized. The press statement added that YPG forces had also mounted an attack on gangs in the area between the 48th street and the Mistenur slopes, killing 4 gang members, and on gangs near the Mekteba Reş, killing one gang member. Attacks continuing in Haseke The YPG said Ba’athist forces were continuing assaults on Haseke, where YPG/YPJ and public security forces had repulsed attacks. 11 gang members killed in Tel Temir The YPG said there had been clashes around Tel Temir between YPG/YPJ forces and gangs, resulting in a serious blow being inflicted on the gangs, with 11 gang members killed. Operation against gangs in Serêkaniyê The YPG Press statement added that an operation had been carried out by YPG/YPJ fighters last night 25 km to the south of Serêkaniyê against gangs located between the villages of Manajir and Alya, destroying a military vehicle and a bulldozer, and killing, as far as could be ascertained, 5 gang members.
