Jan. 28 Daily Announcements: Catholic Schools Week Reminders: Catholic Schools Week is underway! ** No Mass today due to the 2 hour Late Start ** youtube/watch?v=hTNdFtfJkKE&feature=share&list=PLPdeAEzSuFOHHYVC6VCvqxwVOKeN1YNGc Catholic Schools Week Dress Code Information: Weds Dress Code for the Students is Catholic School Day. Students can wear t-shirts, jerseys, or sweatshirts from their Catholic Elem/Middle School or they can wear a t-shirt, jersey or sweatshirt from a Catholic college/university. Students that wear their Catholic school top can wear jeans or sweats. If you are not wearing a Catholic school top, you need to be in regular dress code. Thursday is saint/holy person day. Dress up as a famous holy person, please keep it appropriate. Friday is Columbus spirit day, show off your school colors! The Spring Musical is coming: Auditions for Shrek the Musical will be held Wednesday, January 29th, and Thursday, January 30th. Additional information and audition times are available at the bulletin board by the music entrance or with Miss Keber. The AP Euro class is planning a ceremony to honor all veterans this April. If you have a friend or relative who has served in the military and would like to invite them to this event, please send their name and address to Emily Benda [email protected] by Friday, January 31. CAMPUS MINISTRY: Medley/Service Club will meet Wednesday immediately after school in room 176. We will plan the Black History Month prayer service for Monday, February 3rd. Hey Juniors! Want to do the latest new thing at Columbus? This spring, Columbus will hold a new junior retreat called Kairos. It is a fun-filled weekend with good food, fun games, and great talks with only people from Columbus. Students at Catholic high schools in the Midwest – specifically the Chicagoland area have loved this four day retreat. Columbus’ first Kairos will be held the weekend of March 6th - March 9th. It will only be with other Columbus students and staff and retreat is student led! If you have questions about the retreat, ask the retreat team: Emily Benda, Eric Budde, Sami Graff, Gabby Greco, Lindsay McManus or Zach Ward. You can also find out more information from Mr. Larsen. GUIDANCE OFFICE: Guidance Office: For College Rep visits, get a pass from the Guidance Office: Requesting Classes for 2014/15: All freshman, sophomores, and juniors need to turn in their course requests to the guidance office by January 31. If you would like to meet with Mrs. Stainbrook or Mrs. Ney regarding your courses for next year, please contact them for an appointment. Remember that you need to have teacher approval and parent approval for your course choices. Scholarship Info: Athletics: There is a sign-up sheet in the main office for anyone planning on going out for softball this summer. Please sign your name and contact information on the sheet. Boys interested in playing tennis this spring, please sign up in the main office. If you have played in the past, please sign up to make sure we get everyone. Attention all girls interested in playing Soccer this Spring…..there will be an informational meeting held on Wednesday Jan 29 at 1:00 in the commons Activities today: Good luck Sailors!
