Pan-American’s third giant clipper airplane landed in the Columbia River off Tongue Point today at 10:03 a.m., after an hour and 23 minute flight down the Pacific coast from Seattle and left promptly at 11:20 a.m. for Pan-American’s clipper base on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay, after transfer by Boeing Aircraft of Seattle to PAA was completed. The big clipper was reported over Bay Center on the Long Beach Peninsula eight minutes before she hit the water here.
