Jan. 6, 2015 Sometimes things get missed.... Way back in October the Fresno State Sports Psychology Club put on a fundraiser, in part for Melissa. it took them a while to count up receipts, but recently Dr. Dawn Lewis, their faculty advisor, put $1000 in Gofundme. Thank you, Prof. Lewis. And thank you for educating our young people not just about taking care of their bodies, but also taking care of their (and others) hearts. Im fortunate to work at Fresno State. The whole university, from President Joseph Castro and his wife, Mary, to Julie Logan at KFSR, to Michael Caldwell and Provost Lynnette Zelezny, to the Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Luz Gonzales, to the chair of the History Department, Michelle Denbeste, to colleagues and students of mine, have been just so supportive. Again, I would have preferred a life of obscurity and service as a teacher to what we have gotten, but to have received this kind of generosity and appreciation is really wonderful.
