Janet Lee Perry, 67, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born the daughter of Mitchell and Hazel Tramell Wood, Sr. on February 24, 1946 at the family farmhouse in Friendsville, Illinois. Janet was married to Gary Perry, Sr. on December 13, 1963 at the home of Brother Eastman. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Janet is survived by her husband, Gary, and their four sons, Gary Estol, his wife Tracy Perry, Jr.; Michael Ray, and wife Stephanie; and twin sons, Bradley Lee Perry and Brian Scott Perry. Also surviving are brothers, Mitchell, and wife Maxine Wood, Jr., and Lloyd A. Wood all of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; J. Edward, and wife Debbie Wood, of Oatsville, Indiana; Floyd A., and wife Anne Wood, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and a sister, Ruby Ellen Wood, of Mt. Carmel. Surviving grandchildren are Gary Lee and wife Jessica Perry, Beth Perry, Nick Perry, Blain Perry, Jake Perry, Michaela Perry and Jessica Stout. Janet also has four great grandchildren; Kelsey Marie Perry, Kalin Michael Perry, Caleb Stout and Jaron Stout. Preceding her in death are her parents; an infant brother, Roger; two brothers Daniel Wood and David Wood; and two sisters Judy Wood and Wanda Sue Perry. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Friendsville Cemetery.
