Janet Lim Napoles, who is being linked to the P10-billion pork - TopicsExpress

Janet Lim Napoles, who is being linked to the P10-billion pork barrel scam, has to undergo questioning at the Senate. Yesterday, Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chief Senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III said the Upper Chamber is not keen on holding its inquiry in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Napoles, now detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, has to face Senate probers at the Senate personally should the panel require her presence at its public inquiry. Earlier, Senate President Franklin Drilon proposed that the trial of the suspect be held in her place of detention to save on cost and lessen security threats. Like Drilon, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is in favor of holding Napoles’ trial at Fort Sto. Domingo, citing budget and security considerations. But Guingona said the committee is not considering such moves in pursuing its own investigation. “We have not even thought of it, but I think it would still be held at the Senate. It’s up to the Philippine National Police (PNP) to make security arrangements,” Guingona said in a radio interview over DZRB.
