Janet Zeak, whom I love almost as dearly as her boss Christina Hollerbach - sorry, Janet, Christina captured my heart first - turned me on to a big tin of blanched hazelnuts. And I found all by my self some unsalted uhshelled pistachio nuts just the other day. Now, to recconnoiter the lay of the fridge to find the sliced almonds, the seeds of carraway, fennel, and such (I keep forgetting the name of the one(s) I want most) sto go into a biscotti-rage. Just because I have a few new bottles of wine I think might be a suitable baptismal font-filler for the treats. After testing the batch I shall see if any are worthy of my last bottle of vin santo.
