Jannat: The Prophet (s.a.s) said, Paradise has one hundred grades which Allah has reserved for the fighters in His cause, and the distance between each of the two grades is like the distance between the sky and the earth. So when you ask Allah, ask for Al Firdaus, for it is the best and highest part of Paradise. (Bukhari). When Mu’min enters into Jannah, it will be announced:- You will remain healthy forever, disease will never come. You will remain alive for ever, death will never come. You will remain in bounties which will never be finished. Jannat is made with bricks of gold and silver, Its cement is of perfumed musk. Its chips are pearls and Yaqoot. Its sand is Zafraan. There are eight grades of Jannah. these are eight grades of Jannat : Jannatul Mawa: (As-Sajdah 32:19) Darul Maqaam/Qorar: (Al-Mumin 40:42) Darul Salaam: (Al-Anam 6:127) Darul Khuld: (Al-Furqan 25:15) Jannat-ul-Adan: (Al-Baraah 9:72-73) Jannat-ul-Naeem: (Al-Maidah 5:70) Jannat-ul-Kasif/Illiyin: (Al-Mutaffifin 83:18) Jannat-ul-Firdous: (Al-Kahf 18:107) Food of Jannah: They will eat foods and fruits continuously up to 40 years. Every bowl will have a new taste. They will take eructation which will digest the food and there will be perfumed sweating for the digestion of water. There will be no urine and stool. Garden of Jannat There will be gardens in Jannah. Every garden will have the length of about 100 years journey. The shadow of these gardens will be very dense. Their plants will be free of thorns. The size of their leaves will be equal to ears of elephants. Their fruits will be hanging in rows. Jannatul Mawa is in the lowest, Jannat-ul-Adan is the middle and Jannat-ul- Firdous is on the highest. Those who-love each other for the sake of Allah, will get a pillar of Yaqoot, on which there will be seventy thousand (70,000) rooms. These will shine for the residents of Jannah as the sun shines for the residents of Duniya. There will be rooms in Jannah in such a way that every room will have seventy thousands (70,000) dinning sheets. On every dinning sheet 70,000 types of foods will be served. For their service 80,000 young boys will be moving around looking like beautiful scattered pearls. One bunch of dates will be equal to the length of 12 arms. The size of a date will be equal to the big pitcher. These will be whiter than milk, sweeter than honey and softer than butter and free from seeds. The stem of these plants will be made up of gold and silver. There will also be gardens of grapes. The bunches of grapes will be very big. The size of a single grape will be equal to a big pitcher (pot). Someone asked, Ya Rasulullah Sallalahu alaihi wasallam: will it be sufficient for me and my family. It was answered, it will be sufficient for you and your whole tribe. The Dresses of Jannat The dress of Jannah will be very beautiful. One will wear 70 dresses at a time. These will be very fine, delicate, weightless, having different colors. These dresses will be so fine that the body even the heart will be visible. And the waves of love in the hearts will also be visible. These dresses will never become old, never be dirty and will never tear. There will be four canals in every Jannah. They are of water, milk, honey and Sharabun Tahoora. There will also be three fountains in Jannah. (i) Kafoor. (ii) Zanjabeel. (iii) Tasneem Qualities of People of Jannah In Jannah, height of every Mo’min, will be equal to the height of Hazrat Adam Alaihissalaam = 60 arms (90 feet). Beauty will be like that of Hazrat Yousuf Alaihissalaam Age of youth will be like that of Hazrat Esa Alaihissalaam (30-33 years). Sweetness of voice will be like that of Hazrat Dawud Alaihissalaam. Tolerance will be like that of Hazrat Yaqoob Alaihissalaam Patience will be like that of Hazrat Ayyub Alaihissalaam. Habits will be like that of Sayyadina Muhammad Sallalahu alaihi wasallam. If a person makes Du’a for Jannah three times, Jannah requests Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala that O, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala; make his entry into Jannah. And if a person makes Du’a for safety from Jahannum three times, the Jahannnum requests Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala that, O, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala; save him from Jahannum. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala grant the entire Ummah of Nabi sallalahu alayhi wasallam Jannat ul Firdous . Amina Ya-allah. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala give us guidance to follow the path of the ummah of Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Amina Ya-allah. Allah knows best. Note: Umar bin Khattab (r.a) narrates that the Prophet (s.a.s) said, Anyone of you who performs wudu and says Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wahdahu la shareeka lahu wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu, all the eight gates of Jannah would be open for him. (Muslim) This hadith shows that there are eight gates in Jannah and one who does the above act would be fortunate to gain entry into these gates. The Prophet (s.a.s) has further given details regarding these gates and has mentioned some of their names. In a tradition narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet (s.a.s) is reported to have said, Whoever spends in the path of Allah two things of the same kind would be called to Paradise and it will be said, O Servant of Allah. One who had been offering salaah would be called from the gate of salaah; the man of Jihad would be called from the gate of Jihad; the man of fasting would be called from the gate of Rayyan. Upon hearing this, Abu Bakr (r.a) said, May my parents be sacrificed for you, will there be anyone who would be called from all these gates? The Prophet (s.a.s) said, Yes! and I hope you are one of them. (Recorded by Tirmizi). While commenting on this hadith, the great scholar of hadith and commentator of Sahih Al Bukhari, Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani writes, This hadith tells of four gates (1) Babus Salaah (the gate of Salaah); (2) Babul Jihad (the gate of Jihad); (3) Babus Sadaqah (the gate of charity; (4) Babur Rayyan (the gate of the fasting people. It seems that one gate is also named Babul Hajj (the gate for those who performed Hajj) and one more for those who suppress their anger. Similarly, one gate Babul Aiman will be fixed for those totally relying on Allah and they will enter the gate without their account being taken. There would also be a gate named Babuz Zikr which has been referred to in a hadith recorded by Tirmizi. Sahl bin Saad (r.a) reported that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.s) said, The people in Paradise will look to the upper apartment of Paradise in the same way as you see the stars in the sky. (Muslim). Abu Saed Al Khudri narrated that the Prophet (s.a.s) said , The people of Paradise will look at the dwellers of the lofty mansions in the same way as one looks at a brilliant star far away in the east or in the west on the horizon. That is because of their superiority over one another in rewards. Upon hearing this, the Companions said, O Apostle of Allah! Are these lofty mansions the Prophets mansions which nobody can reach? The Prophet (s.a.s) replied, By Allah in whose hands my life is, some men who believe in Allah and testified to the truth of the Prophets will be able to reach there. (Bukhari, Muslim).
