January 13 – Acts 5:12-16 Just a thought – It sounds like a contradiction. In verse 13, it says that no one else joined all the believers while they met together. But in verse 14, Luke tells us that more and more people believed in the Lord and were added to their number. The church tries so hard to be welcoming to everyone, and we should be. But too many of us have sold our soul to add to the membership list. We have forgotten about Biblical truth, about discipline and holy fear. When will the church be what it was created to be, a people who boldly proclaim the name of Jesus and take seriously His call to be holy as He is holy? It will happen when God’s people decide to let go of their pettiness and have a shadow worth falling under.
