If God had only wanted praise he had the Angels, who perform that function perfectly. God created us so that we might have fellowship with him and care for his creation. That creation was established to meet man’s needs, not God’s needs. God expressed his love for mankind in the creation of the universe. A perfectly balanced creation with every star and planet exactly were God placed them. Genesis explains that God created the heavens and then the earth. He separated the light and darkness. He placed plants and vegetation upon the earth. God then made fish, birds and animals that would be fit for man’s consumption. Evolutionist have hundreds of theories about how everything developed from one cell. Yet with the knowledge of DNA and genetic codes they have no process to change one species to another. Random evolution simply does not fly! God wants us to praise and honor him with love and devotion because of his great love and devotion, that is seen in his creation and Jesus life and sacrifice. God wants more that robotic worship! God wants us to love him freely out of gratitude and admiration for his majesty and love. But God also wants us to know that we can depend on him for our needs. The song today reminds me that God wants us to lay everything at his throne. Our prayers, our singing, our lives and yes even our troubles.
