January 19, 2014 Breeze of Grace Jesus- THE GATE 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:9 & 10 NIV “Gate:” 1 : an opening in a wall or fence. 2 : a city or castle entrance often with defensive structures (as towers) Jesus said He was the Gate. Not just any gate, but “The Gate.” While traveling overseas for missions I have noticed that most areas have fences with a gate to access the property. Jesus wanted all to know that the gate to heaven and access to God the Father used to be closed and locked! But, He is the Gate and He was open for all who believe to come in – once in the walled off area you would find all your true desires fulfilled and in turn find life’s purpose which leads to rest or assurance of peace. Outside the gate are kinds of thieves and robbers… disturbers of our peace and rest. Jesus invites us to come on in… it is safe here! Remember that The Gate provides both protection and freedom. It will give you helpful boundaries and keep the enemy at bay. Come, and find rest for your soul. PRAYER: Father God, I find rest and peace inside the Gate You provided. Jesus is a strong Gate that brings a place of security and refuge for my soul! Why look for greener pastures? Lord, You are all I need!
