This was Clapton’s second marriage. 2000: George Harrison left a London hospital after being treated for stab wounds during an encounter with an intruder. Doctors told him he would be able to play guitar again. 1990: A radio station in St. Petersburg, FL played “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin for 24 hours straight as they launched their all-Led Zeppelin format. 1989: Nirvana signed their first record contract, a three-year three-album deal with Seattle-based Sub Pop Records. 1980: Rush released their seventh studio album, Permanent Waves which went on to become their first top five album in the U.S., eventually peaking at number four on the Billboard 200 album chart the following month. 1978: Ozzy Osbourne rejoined Black Sabbath after having left the previous November, temporarily replaced by Savoy Brown singer Dave Walker. Decca A&R man Dick Rowe passed on signing them & told the group’s manager Brian Epstein “guitar groups are on the way out” as his reason for not signing The Beatles.
