January 25, 2015 to the editor of the IBJ: I want to thank Greg Morris for his courageous editorial regarding the movie, American Sniper as well as his commentary on President Obamas failed foreign policy. This is one of the best editorials I have ever seen in the IBJ and restores some faith in local media. Mr. Morris has the courage to state the fact that the enemy freedom faces has, at its genesis, Radical Islam and, no, this doesnt mean that all Muslims are terrorists nor should all be judged by the actions of the radical element. It takes courage to state the truth because some will distort what Mr. Morris believes and states. Yet it is important that Greater Indianapolis be told the truth by opinion setters such as Mr. Morris. We certainly wont get it from the cowards currently running the Indianapolis Star where resident moderate Matthew Tully is more concerned about those who cruelly stereotype all Muslims than he is about those who exhibit real cruelty, namely, those Radical Islamists who will not tolerate freedom and kill those who exhibit it. By the way, Tully never seems bothered by the cruel stereotype that all TEA partiers are bigots or nuts! Mr. Morris states that he fears ...this war on terrorism has no end and yet it could. It could end badly for the forces of freedom if we hide in fear and wont confront who and what the real enemy is. This pure evil can and must be defeated but it will not happen with media and governmental cowards failing to tell the truth out of fear or by abiding by the stupid parameters political correctness dictates. Americans will respond if told the truth and that is why the media-government axis of corruption and lies must end. I have not seen America Sniper but hope to. I live very close to one who fought the good fight in Iraq for four tours and who has paid a tremendous price for it. My fear is that a country that glorifies the likes of Justin Bieber and other celebrities more than heroes such as ours or those of the likes of Chris Kyle will likely succumb to the evil that is Radical Islam. The cowardice of our leadership and media lead me to believe my fear is well grounded.
