January 25th, 2015. Pervomaisk, Luhansk Republic. People came to say last goodbye to the city mayor, Eugene Ischenko. Eugene was killed by Ukrainian subversive group when he was meeting humanitarian aid for the city. Eugene Ischenko was a man of great honor and loved by everyone in the city. Modest enough to live in a garage after his own apartment was bombed down, day and night he was taking care of the city: making sure that people have heating, gas and water in their homes. Former mine worker, he was working side by side with municipal services, helping to pull people from the ruins of the wrecked houses, arranged canteens in the city where people could eat for free. In July, when Ukrainian artillery started to wipe the city off face of earth, he brought his wife and newborn son to Russia but came back to Pervomaisk himself, to take care of 20 thousand people staying in the city. Eugene Ischenko will be never forgotten by people of Pervomaisk!
