January 26, 2015 UPS AND DOWNS Everyday brings new opportunities for us. We won’t always see them. We won’t always want to act on them. We won’t always feel like reaching out and making a difference. We all have times when we are down about something. We all have times where we feel rejected, bored or lonely. Our feelings can keep us from doing God’s will. The best way to get rid of those feelings quickly is to give them to God. He can move us from our down feelings and bring us closer to Him so we are up again. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” (NLT) Dear Lord, help us to never give up. Help us when we have both ups and downs to stay focused on You. Remind us to come to You daily to be renewed so we will know despite what happens to us, You are with us. So we will remember nothing in this world is greater than You. We pray when we are down, You will lift us up reminding us of Your great blessings and Your plan for us. We give You our day, Lord, and pray You will help us resist our negative feelings and focus on doing Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
